    Cookie policy

    A very short receipt.

Scam Finder sets only what it needs to run the feature you’re using. Reading a page sets no tracking cookies. The full list is below.

Everything we put in your browser.

Each one needs to exist for something you asked for, so there’s nothing here to accept or refuse. If you never sign in or save a draft, most of this list never reaches you.

    What these words mean

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep. Browser storage does a similar job and stays on your device. Privacy law treats them alike, so this page lists both. Scam Finder is run by [TODO: operator legal name and country].

    Why we use them

The session and form protection cookies are strictly necessary. They let you stay signed in and stop forged requests, and accounts can’t work without them. They’re marked secure and can’t be used for advertising.

A saved draft exists only if you turn it on. We keep it off by default in case you’re using a shared device.

Your theme, density and time zone are saved in your account when you’re signed in. See the privacy policy.

    How we count use

To learn whether Scam Finder is useful, we count things like completed checks. That counting sets no cookies and leaves out full web addresses, email addresses and sensitive content. Monthly totals are published on the transparency page.

    Turning them off

You can do any of these:

    • Sign out, which ends your session.
    • Delete a saved draft, or turn draft saving off while you write.
    • Clear cookies and site data in your browser settings.
    • Block cookies for this site in your browser settings.

If you block cookies you can still read every public page and check a website, but you won’t be able to sign in.

    Changes and contact

If we add a cookie or storage item, it goes on this page and the date at the top changes. If it isn’t strictly necessary, we’ll ask for your consent where the law requires it before setting it.

Questions go through the contact page.
